Testimonial: My name is Jason and I'm the director of a new independent Calgary
film company. As with any business in the modern world, we require a web presence
to legitimize our product. Having amassed neither the knowledge base nor the experience
of launching a website before, I was unsure of my best course of action. There are
so many options and directions a fellow could take. Do you mimic the prototype of
a similar company, or invent your own completely unique vision? Do you use flash
or html? Do you hire the big, faceless company to execute the digital similitude
of your dream, or do you give a couple hundred bucks to the neighbour's kid and
hope for the best?
If you are at all serious about making a website - and if you're making a website,
you have to be serious about it - you want to place your vision in the most competent,
caring hands possible. Luckily for me, Isaac and I have a mutual friend, and it
was a stroke of fortune that I was pointed in AmorTech's direction. Since the inception
of our fledgling company, Isaac has been there for us along every step of the way.
He has carefully steered us through each aspect and stage of design, skillfully
integrating his own sensibilities with the sensibilities of our graphic designer,
to ensure that the totality of our vision is enhanced, not compromised. And along
the way, he has tactfully offered suggestions to some of our more fanciful notions,
to help keep our vision grounded and uniform.
No matter how many last-minute ideas we seem to randomly throw at Isaac, he never
complains, never argues and never ignores. He is fast but accurate, detailed but
not overwrought, and proud of his craft without being egotistical - his websites
are a labour of love. Navigate them, every nook and menu, and you'll quickly realize
you're witnessing the work of a consummate professional. I may have gotten lucky
finding AmorTech, but if you're reading this, you're one step away from getting
Scope: Gettin In is an independent comedy being filmed here in Calgary. They
required a marketable website that would showcase their progress through making
the film and promote social interaction and sponsorships. The site would also boast
a large number of video feeds and detailed blog.
Solution: Amortech designed a custom Wordpress theme that was based around
video blogging with all social interaction built-in. Polls, reviews, ratings and
more were used to rank contest entries to spur social interaction.
